First report of the year. After a week of wind, there was a window to go fish the outer banks towards the west butterfly and beyond. We started our day at 9 am and arrived near the condom bank where one of my other guys had texted me that it was biting at night for them. I figured at least thats a good area to start since my belief that i would at least see something in the daytime. Unfortunately I worked the whole area till 5 pm and called it quits. I was centralized at 32 29, 118 35. I worked up, down, left , right. Trolled the spreader bar for a couple hours, then put up the kite and skipped the rubber yummy. these are my two go two options while searching. I didint see a single bluefin on the surface nor any on the finder. For some reason, they just show up at night time for the sport boats. I dont believe the nightime jigging is a small boat game, nor do i have any interest in it. But if thats youre game, this is the zone to work. Also- we did find one patty and we went 1 for 4 on the yellowtail with a flyline sardine. Hoping things turn around soon. As always, good or bad, ill keep you updated
